"The Way" in a nutshell
Here at the fan club, we know that many people become fans of Bob
without even knowing his toasting talents. While following "The
Way of the Toast" does not singularly define our Highlander,
we feel that to fully appreciate the awesomeness of Bob, one should
have at least a superficial understanding of "The Way".
To quote from the Smuts
Hall Wiki page:
The way of the toast is a path to enlightenment through the
creation of the fabled "Ten out of ten" toast.
...
What many try, yet fail miserably to achieve, is the perfect
complete toastedness that is required of all slices aspiring to
"Ten-ness". Hours of toiling, sweating, burning and
cursing ultimately result in only three things - failure, disheartenment
and below-average toast.
The grounds upon which "The Way" is practiced is in the
Fuller Dinning hall, where despite the introduction of roller toasters,
the traditions of using a slot toaster stands strong.
Work and teachings of the Toast Master
Here, we try to showcase some of best works Bob produced while
practicing "The Way".
In a recent interview, Highlander Bob stated that he believes that
the prophesied ten-out-of-ten toast can only be crafted after creating
no less than seventeen consecutive nine-out-of-ten slices. He also
added, "I find that the quality of toast is inversely proportional
to the amount of sleep the craftsman has had in the 48 hours prior
to the moment of creation. In the future, I intent to experiment
with various levels of sleep deprivation and gauge the effect it
has on my toasting."
